My Brother came to visit and he got me too presentS.
I don’t know which of my two older brothers came to visit. Both were in their 20s during the 1970s and living in New York City (I think), so young me didn’t see them much.
The upper right item looks like it could be a book about dinosaurs (maybe a maze book?) or some kind of flag. More identifiable, however, is the robot at the center, which our robot toy-designing friend suggests could be Grendizer.
This was at the height of the Shogun Warriors craze, so it’s possible that I did indeed have the Grendizer shown above, but I have this nagging, fuzzy memory of having some smaller, die-cast robots of Japanese provenance. Who knows. (If you think you can identify our robot drawing, let us know.)
03.14.14 UPDATE!
A friend of the blog (we’ll call him “G”) sent us a link to an eBay auction for this guy:

Looks like we found our man, er, robot. It was die-cast after all! Nice to know I haven’t completely killed my memory with beer.
