Today is my BirthDay. and I got a Battle cruiser.
Happy Birthday, young me! What a cool gift!
The Micronauts Battle Cruiser was the Holy Grail of the entire line — a giant ship that you could transform into a bunch of different vehicles.
I’ve said before that Micronauts were a little like both Kenner’s Star Wars toys and Legos but not quite as cool as either. In fact, they were kinda cheap looking and unsturdy. But hey, as far as a birthday present for a kid turning eight goes, this rocks. Nice work, parents.
As you can probably guess, this means it’s also my birthday here in 2014. We still celebrate our birthday, young me, but not quite as vigorously as we did in previous decades. Mainly because the idea of spending an evening hanging out with a 43-year-old isn’t exactly a big draw for a lot of people. And cake and balloons are less fun when people are old and lactose-intolerant and not as interested in the comedy potential of a mouthful of helium.
That said, your future wife got you some pretty good presents. Mainly, she got you this:
It’s a framed copy of the patent for the LEGO minifigure design. Score!
Yeah. She’s easily the best thing that ever happened to you.
